「CAP180, Ancient pilgrimage」
Rally starts in a serious mood from the beginning. SS-1 starts from near the airport. If you concern about your navigation, it is recommended to fill up the tank before start. Go through beautiful boundless greenery grassland. Watch out for local vehicles especially. Hold back your power down to 80%. SS-1 finishes at the town of old Lamasery. There is a sorrow of lamists against religious persecution during the Soviet era. Fuel up and heading south again. The ground changes the color from green to brown. Get over tough first day with hydration and taking sodium. There is a ruins of lama temple under the pressure of communism at the finish line. That looks like an ancient ruins but that is a negative legacy of 20th Century.

「South Gobi, Heading to the heat haze」
Climax on the first half. Run through south Gobi. The highlight stage to say This is Gobi!
Leaving bivouac for SS-1, run and run high speed pists called Gobi Highway toward south Gobi. There are lots of camels at side of pists. Run through deserted mine and reaches to hub town of south Gobi. Fuel up, SS-2 starts from by the airport, then go north to cool off from hot south Gobi. The road becomes sandy. Come back from Gobi to the town, fuel up and back to bivouac.

「Go beyond SUGAWARA Pass」
Heading north away from Gobi, across the pass, then go to west. Complete change from yesterday, you must care about winter clothing in case weather changes for the worse. Because you go across the mountain ridge of 3000 meters. It will be thrilled to ride down rocky mountain pass. We named SUGAWARA Pass on 2000. We have crossed the pass several times for a quarter century. You finish the line at the town with hot springs. There are nomads and local vehicles throughout the day. Be careful to drive even during the SS.
This day’s bivouac is at hotel in the town.

Back to Gobi just a little, loop day with short SS-2.
Run along paved road from outskirts of the town to start SS-1. Grasses are tall and this area is like dried marshlands. Get to the lake, just go along it. The lake becomes small, therefore lake shore becomes far. CP-1 is at the lake shore. Lake on the opposite side has gone. Away from the lake, run and run on plains and finish SS-1. Moving a paved road, SS-2 is from the town. Next heading north. Run across amazing mountain range, valley with lovely flowers, and come in sight of a small, beautiful lake, then a bigger one.
What a picturesque Etap! Complete the slightly hard navigation with caution, back to bivouac. It almost like getting back to reality from Utopia.

Avoid a town, going along power line and come in sight of the small town at where you finish SS-1. Across the bridge for SS-2. Go through a village at a deserted mine, breathtaking megalithic site, then get to comfortable steppe road.
Across mountains up to north, you finish SS-2.

SS-1 starts just before the dunes and climb up them. Do not lose your way in the dunes. After getting over those dunes, across the river. Another dunes are on the opposite shore. A mysterious view with sand and green. Run across low-mountain toward south to finish SS-1, fuel up, then go up north to avoid marshy areas. Pass the temple to the north, you can see greenery land when you finish SS-2. Long day but tomorrow is last day.

Breathtaking greenery mountains are there. Mongolian practice horse racing for Naadam on those rich and gentle field. Greenery land celebrates you to finish the rally.
